Transport will be available on the day
- - From Mgarr to Xaghra (after the 7:30 a.m. Ferry) - Ferry departs at 7:30 a.m. from Cirkewwa
- - From Xaghra to Mgarr (departure at 1:30 p.m. from Xaghra Square) - to catch the 2:15 p.m. Ferry from Mgarr
Important information
- - The 2km and 4km races are for young athletes, and both races take place around
the limits of Xaghra. Both races start at 8.45 a.m.
- - Both the 8 mile
and 13.1 mile races start and finish in the Xaghra Square and both start at 9.30 a.m.
- - The 13.1 mile bike race follows the same route as the athletic one and starts also at 9.30 a.m.
- - Race Marshalls will be present along the route to help direct both athletes and
commutor vehicles in urban areas
- - Athletes will also be able to follow white arrows on the ground throughout the whole route,
as well as mileage signs
- - Checkpoints will be present at various points along the race, to make sure that all
athletes abide by the route (NB: results are not published before all checkpoints
are reviewed)
- - Water Stations are also available along the route every 2 miles, as well as the
aid of local police and first aiders

Gozo Half Marathon Routes
2km Race
4km Race

- Race starts at Xaghra Square, point `A` heads down through Racecourse Street.

- Right towards Parisott Street, point `B` and on towards Clay Road (Triq it-Tafla).

- Enter Ta` Hamet road, and continue until Ta` Hamet roundabout point `D`.

- Go around the roundabout, and head back along Ta` Hamet road onto main street to
Xaghra Square and to the Finish line Point `C`.
8 Miles Race (This race starts along with the
13 mile race and follows the same path, until the two sets of athletes are divided
at the end of San Bert Street, Xewkija)
- - The 8 mile race (along with the 13 mile race) starts at point `B` (Xaghra Square) down Marsalforn Road, Victoria, Sannat, Xewkija, until it reaches the end of San
Bert Street, Xewkija.
- - The 8 mile athletes then turn left towards Qala road, until they reach point `C`
on the map.
- - At point `D`, the atheltes will be directed along a narrow street (not shown on
the map, approx. 0.3 miles) towards point `A`.
- - Point `A` is where the athletes will enter Rabat Road, Nadur, and there they will
continue towards Ta` Rummiena Roundabout.
- - Turn right towards main road to Xaghra (Ta` Hamet road) and continue towards the
Finish line at point `B` Xaghra Square
13.1 Miles Race

- Xaghra: Start at the Xaghra Square, through Church street &
Marsalforn Road to Victoria

- Victoria: Kappucini street & Enrico Mizzi street towards Sannat then
left on Sannat road to Xewkija
- - Xewkija: Through Soil street, through Xewkija Square,
through San Bert street, onto Imgarr road towards Ghajnsielem

- Ghajnsielem: Through Ghajnsielem Square, through Simirat Street, towards
Qala road, (Borg Gharib & Conception streets) to Qala

- Qala: Left at Qala Square, left at D-Bar, right at Independence street, then
left onto Qala street towards Nadur
- - Nadur:
Turn Left to San Gwann Street, Right to Church Street, through Nadur Square, Through
13 December street onto Rabat Road
- - Xaghra:
On Rabat Road, towards Tar-Rummiena Roundabout, right towards main road to Xaghra
(Ta`Hamet road) to the Finish line
